The key to success in any endeavor is knowledge. Judaism is no different. The pathway to a Jewish life that is stimulating, relevant, enjoyable and, most importantly, transferable to the next generation, is the acquisition of Jewish wisdom.
The Kollel is committed to making this knowledge available to all Jews regardless of age, background, affiliation or level of observance. We strive to provide sincere and open forums for the dissemination of genuine Torah wisdom in a warm, friendly and non-judgmental atmosphere.
Find out more about our classes and activities, to help you attain that wisdom on our website. Please do not hesitate to contact the office to arrange a discussion group, breakfast seminar or lunch and learn in your home, office or synagogue.
All classes, unless otherwise specified, are given in our spacious and welcoming center at Providence Hebrew Day School 450 Elmgrove Avenue Providence, RI 02906.

Mr. Adam Greenman, President & CEO

Part grantmaker, part fundraiser, part think tank, part gathering place, part provider of essential services, the Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island funds more than 300 programs to build a strong, vibrant Jewish community that’s committed to social justice and to experiencing Jewish life together in a spirit of joy and generosity. Our partners – here and around the world – are making a transformative impact in individual lives and in the local and global Jewish community.
The Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island offers social, cultural, educational, recreational, and wellness benefits that strengthen Jewish identity, family life, community, and the connection between the local Jewish community and Israel.
The Alliance also builds and sustains Jewish community by maximizing philanthropic resources and volunteer efforts. Some 2,000 donors raised nearly $3.2 million in the 2013 Annual Campaign, supporting a quality Jewish life for Jews everywhere, every day.
With its strong cadre of caring lay and professional leaders, the Alliance continues to be a flourishing Jewish community that engages and inspires through inclusion, participation, and respect.
For nearly 70 years, we have made an extraordinary difference together – down the street and around the world. Together, we make a difference: The Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island is built upon a rich history: In 1658 the country’s second Jewish community was established in Newport, where Touro Synagogue is the oldest Jewish house of worship in the United States.
