Donor Designated Funds

Aside from direct donations to the school or the scholarship fund, the school encourages donors to consider contributingting funds to any of the Donor Designated Funds listed below. The purpose of Donor Designated funds is to allow donors to target their contributions to areas of personal interest.

Resource Fund:

Research has shown that 10% of our student population will require resource help in order to succeed in the mainstream school environment. In the past, both Jewish Day Schools in Rhode Island received special funding to assist with the hiring of professionals who have the training, ability and teaching strategies to meet the needs of these students. In recent years, the schools have needed to integrate these services into their regular budget. The intervention currently provided is insufficient based on the needs of our student population. In many cases, these students may be referred to the local public schools for resource help.

Technology Fund:

• Purchase of classroom Smart Boards $7,000 - Includes the purchase and installation of Smart Board and laptop computer, electrical installation, and training.
• Purchase of Video Conferencing equipment - $12,000 - includes dedication of the equipment, training, and online access to professional content vendors in every area of the academic curriculum. The use of this technology also allows full classes to hold live video conferences with students in Israel or in other schools.

Performing Arts Program

Each year our middle school, and high school students participate in a variety of drama, song, and dance productions. These events are performed in the Louis and Goldie Chester Performing Arts stage, and many members of the community attend the productions.

• Endow a dramatic production $5,000 - Includes ten front row seats to the show, purchase of script, directing costs, purchase of scenery and props, artistic rendering of backdrop, publishing of playbill and much more.
• Mock Trial Sponsorship - $3,000 - Includes student coaching fees, transportation, school membership fees and awards ceremony.
