“How does one pay tribute to a special woman who has had such a profound impact on her students for so many years? Mrs. Maureen Sheehan began her career at Providence Hebrew Day School in 1979 when she served as the sixth grade teacher, and in 1984, she became the General Studies Educational Coordinator; she was soon promoted to General Studies Principal of PHDS, and then to General Studies Principal of both PHDS and NEAT. ...read more
Dr. Itzi and Mrs. Dassie Barr moved to Providence in the summer of 2008 when Dr. Barr began his residency in internal medicine at Brown University. They are the proud parents of four daughters. The youngest of five children, Dr. Ernest Isaacson grew up in Marblehead, MA, and attended Cohen Hillel Academy for elementary school. He then attended New England Academy of Torah; he describes those four years as “magical and transformative.” Following high school, Dr. Isaacson studied at Yeshivas Ner Yaakov in HarNof, Jerusalem. After one year in Skokie Yeshiva, he returned to Providence to serve as high school dorm counselor for one year while learning in New England Rabbinical College. ...read more
