The
mathematics curriculum is oriented around the development of specific
math functions and systematic reasoning skills as well as the
development of confidence in and enjoyment of the subject.
Students
in Grades K-6 receive between 40 and 60 minutes of mathematics
instruction each day. Teachers use manipulatives, games and challenging
problems in motivating their students.
Students in Grades 7-12 receive 45 minutes of mathematics instruction each day.
Mathematics specialists teach these exposing our students to a high school level
course in eighth grade and college level courses in high school.
This year our school is preparing Math Nights for the elementary school
students, which will include games, puzzles and challenging questions for
children at every level of ability.
Mathematics specialists at Providence Hebrew Day School are highly qualified and
prepare our children to compete mathematically in a globally competitive society.
The Providence Hebrew Day School offers comprehensive elementary, middle school, and high school programs. See below for other aspects of our curriculum.
